Default On Line Photography Courses

Just curious if anyone here is using, or has tried the course advertised on this site by ProudPhotography.com
I would be interested in hearing your thoughts.

They dont seem to teach anything that cant be learned from the internet though. 90$ is still 90$ and thats alot to spend on what looks like an introduction to photography.

It looks like the info might just be as easy to get for free from the library. They say that no special skills or camera are necessary. I would be concerned about that.

I mean, how much time are they going to go over how to take off a lens cap and the difference between a camera strap and a F`stop?

That should be a huge red flag. Most quality photography courses at the college level require at least a DSLR (least here in Canada and the colleges I've looked at).

I Appreciate the replies thus far. I was just curious if anyone would be willing to speak favorably. They do promise your money back if not safisfied, so if that statement is true and the collective thoughts so far are accurate, it would seem as though this business does not have a very promising future. I agree that most of what is being offered is basic in nature. I have viewed several tutorials on NAPP that have been helpful, but since joining that organization has a price, they are not free tutorials. The free tutorials I have seen on the internet have been for the most part very poor. No doubt there are several very good ones, but like everything else, when there is good, there most likely will be bad also.

Ok, but NAPP is a Photoshop user's organization, not a photography organization.

Not sure, from reading the list, I can tell you that 70% of them are easily found on youtube.com from good sources. They're short, to the point and include examples and actual shooting enviornments.

I would spend the $90 on two good photo books, like "Exposure" and something else you need help with.

If you really want something you can watch on a DVD BlueCrane makes some great videos specifically for Canon and Nikon models. They give you the basics terms in terms of your camera and how to change it and that means.
