Default Arlington Camera: pros - cons

I am looking to buy a new camera, Nikon D90 to be specific, and I have heard one good comment about Arlington Camera, in the Dallas area. It sounds like they are a local mom and pop store, and I would feel good about that. However this is a big investement for me, and I don't have time or money to spend on someone that does not deliver. Any thoughts?

Well, I checked reseller ratings and they only had 1 review, which was a 10, so no help there.

I have met the guy that owns it and he went out of his way to help me give free stuff to our workshops. I believe in spending money at local business's verses internet just for the fact that we should support our local small stores. I'm sure if you ask, he will work something out with you to match what you find.

Always ask and then deside later. Good things happen to those that enquire. Well it sounds good. lol

DGS,
Arlington Camera is a very well respected business with very knowledgeable staff. They are highly recommended by the many pro photographers here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

I have made a quite a few purchases from them and in one case they helped me by talking me out of buying something that was suggested by another store, as it turned out I didnt need the item at all.

Two weeks ago I bought a Canon 430ex II and a Canon 85mm f2.8 lens and they allowed me to test them on my camera as much as I wanted and offered advice and tips while I did so. I wouldnt hesitate to make any purchase from them.

I wouldn't call it a mom and pop shop.
The store has everything, with a staff of about a dozen people.
Knowledgeable, friendly staff.

Ask for Xavier, tell him Mark McCall sent you.

I haven't been in yet. An uncle, also a pro photog loves the place and the service. I'm planning a trip myself. Its such a novelty these days to find both friendly and knowledgable people. They are supposed to be the best.

I have used Arlington Camera for years and will vouch for them. My last big purchase from them was a Fuji S5 digital SLR.

One thing that I really like about them is that they are one of the few remaining local sources for 5-liter E-6 chemistry.

I've bought a few things from them and they have been great, and I live only 30 minutes from them so that makes it even better.

They also will let you pay your purchase out via a old fashion lay-away plan.I think they give you 3 months....Really seem like honest people!!!

I have been real happy with the purchase so far. It was a quick shipment to OKC, just one day.
