Default Westcott Spiderlites

I was watching Photoshop user TV and saw Scott and Matt talking about Westcott’s Spiderlites. Has anybody ever used them? I entered to win a free kit but if it turns out I don’t win I am still thinking about buying a set. Any suggestions?

This should be moved to the Lighting forum.

No idea on the Westcott lights. I have a few umbrellas from Westcott, they were inexpensive, and fit the bill, and seem durable enough.

I've used them and I wasn't overly impressed. Tripod and still subject; great.
I was shooting ISO 200, 1/160th, f/2.8 undiffused with the light 2 ft or less from the subject at a workshop. Once you put a diffuser in front of them you lose even more light. I also am irritated that they used Monte Zucker's natural window light and reflector wedding portrait and captioned it as if it were taken with Spiderlite TD5's.

That is crap. At least those horrible pictures of Paul Buff were taken using their equipment. You gotta have a tiny bit of truth in advertising.
