Default Logo

Hi-
I need some help with my logo. My husband created it in PrintShop at his work using , I believe Montague font. I brought it into PS and it became one with the white page. I am now trying to take it into Smugmug and the entire page goes with it. I don't have Montague font in PS and I don't know how to ungroup (or if that is even an option) in PS. Does anyone? I have tried finding the font online but no luck. ANy ideas? I will try and attach it here.

Montage font is available at Fonts101.com - Montague Font TTF (Fancy Category) for free download.

Google is your friend.

Regarding your image and white space, crop the image or reduce your canvas size.

Thanks for the advice on the free font. I tried downloading it and it seems that the fonts, when saved are either true type fonts or .zip fonts. This download is a .zip. These don't show up on my options when I go to install them on my computer. Any ideas?

Windows or Mac?

If it's Windows, do this:

1. Open Control Panel
2. If you have Vista, just type Fonts in the search bar at the top. If you have XP, open the Fonts control panel.
3. In the File Menu, select Install New Font...
4. Find the downloaded font you just saved. Select the .ttf file and select OK.

If you have Photoshop open, you may need to close it and reopen it before PS will see it.

EDIT: If it's a Mac, you should just be able to double-click it? I'm not a Mac guy. Actually, double-clicking it might work in Windows, too.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the info. I did try doing just that -installing font but the only ones that show available in my font folder (where I've saved all of them) are the true type ones. THe other ones (including the Montage) are zip files (whatever that means) and they don't even show up as options when I search for them under file-install new font.

A zip file is a compressed file to save space. It needs to be uncompressed to be able to be used. Use an expansion utility like Stuffit Expander and it should uncompress into a folder containing the font, which you should be able to install.
