I am both excited, nervous, and scared at the same time. If you never heard of Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep here is the link. Now I lay Me Down To Sleep - ~Infant Bereavement Photography~

After outr second child my wife was pregnant with Twins. She carried them for about 7 months. Somehow her placenta tore and we had to deliver but the twins did not make it. That was the most horrible experience of my life. More so for my wife. After all, she did carry them for a while. We have 1 picture of the twins. It was very hard for us. So I know the parents involved with this program suffer even greater hardship. To be honest I am not sure how I will handle my first shoot. All I know is that I will be doing a lot of praying....

WOW, that will be a tough one inked!! IMHO, it takes a very special person to do this kind of photography. I wish you well.

Very noble and worthwhile cause. When I get back home and establihsed I'm joining too. I came very near going to funeral director school years ago. I have this thing about dignity and the sanctity of life. Good move Ernie.

Hey Ernie,
I'm so sorry to hear about your twins. It must have been devastating. What a great way to help others.

I just found out I was approved yesterday as well. I'm waiting to hear from them regarding joining the forum. I faxed my VSA yesterday. I applied to do the retouching not the photography. I thought I could ease my way in this way.

Welcome aboard to all of you, from me too. One thing I can tell you for sure, go to the photo site that says "WARNING, GRAPHIC PHOTOS" or something like that and spend a lot of time preparing yourself mentally for what you could be seeing.

Sorry for your loss Ernie, there are quite a few of us in the same boat. Now can you see why I have been practicing my low key shots with Bailey, my baby doll?

The older I get, the easier it is for me to shed tears, cry or bawl my eyes out. You should have seen me try and visit "The Wall" in DC, didn't make it.

You prepare as best you can for what is to come, steel yourself, shoot and then go home and cry.

I did. I was so unprepared for what I saw. But it was good for me. That way I know what to expect my first time out. Yes I did cry when I saw them. But in my opinion. I don't mind showing emotion. I would rather have someone with a heart and feelimgs. Than just someone shooting pictures. I think the loss of my twins will help me in this journey. My wife is 100% behind me and is proud of me. So that is a big help.
