Default Ebay Deals

What good deals have you gotten.

I recently got a Sekonic L-508 for less than 200$ because it was listed as a L 500. Then last night I won a pair of Pocket Wizards (last years model) for less than 300$.

Wow yo did I watched an AB 800 go for 260 the other day and the ring flash sell for 375$. Personally if it was that close to the original price I would have gotten them directly from the company.

Three days later I saw an exact copy of my Sekonic go for 265$.

Less than $125 including shipping....

By the way - charging a low purchase price and a high shipping price is not necessarily "gouging" nor is it "false advertising". The eBay selling fees are determined by purchase price - not shipping charges. I would make more profit on an item I sold for $1 with a $100 shipping fee than for a $100 item with a $1 shipping fee.

Just consider shipping and purchase price as the total price. If it's cheap enough, it doesn't matter how the funds are allocated.

Thanks Richard. I always stayed away from sellers with very high shipping and handling; now I know why they do that!

Last year I sold, on Ebay, this 12 year old Sinar F2 8x10 camera with a Schneider 360mm f6.8 lens in great condition for $2000 to this fine art photographer in Chicago TED PREUSS PHOTOGRAPHY He does a lot of Platinum prints which is a contact process so to make 8x10 prints you need an 8x10 negative. It went to a good home

I then took that $2000 and spent $1200 on Ebay for this 2 year old Aluma single motorcycle trailer. It's all aluminum and weighs only a bit more than the Sinar camera !

Changing priorities.......

Using eBay, I put together a Hasselblad 500CM kit with A12 back, 80mm f/2.8 C, and waist-level for about $650ish. Added some odds and ends from B&H and KEH to put the total to somewhere in the $780-range, including replacement seals and CLA.

i thought of gettin' a camera from ebay, but shipping to my country reaches as much as 75$. Plus, i will have to pay taxes at customs (that will be 19% of the total value - price of product + shipping- + some other taxes) so i'm thinking of buying the camera from the black market here. That is, if i can't get to bribe the customs agent.
I did got some pretty neat deals at memory card readers and memory cards. I buy'em form ebay, sell'em here, get some profit... I know it's illegal, but, hey! stealing from the goverment...hm, my conscience is clean.
