Indeed it does! It's ICE 226 from Frankfurt, arriving Arnhem at 10:23. We'll be in Wagon 21, Seats 11 and 13.

That stuff is a bit too much 'in your face' for my taste. I would consider some of that gear if they lost the not so subtle lettering and left only the camel (smaller than currently, please) with its shades.

NS won't let me book you a seat - doesn't seem to like we foreigners from the neighbouring country.

You'll have no problem recognising us - we'll be the ones sitting in seats 11 & 13.

don't worry about booking a seat: I have a card that is valid on any public transportation vehicle in Holland. So everything is sorted out before hand. I'll just walk to seat 11/13.

OK, just a day to go and looking forward to the weekend.

For those of us who will be there, just a quick message to let you all know that in addition to photographing Amsterdam, we can also go a bit wider, both by private car and public transport if desired.

There are some very nice photographic spots in the surrounding areas and of course, plenty of typical Dutch subjects like windmills and tulip fields to work with.

So for a meeting point, we can all meet at the NH Carlton and go from there.

When I get home from Italy this evening, I will send you all my mobile number.

...just what you've been waiting for...

1st quick impressions of the 2nd PhotoCamel Meet & Greet in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. No time to straighten some, will reload later, and add to the Camel Gallery Paul will set up for us to share our impressions. For now: some embedded from my PBase Gallery

The first stop for Drinks & Lunch

...and what happens when photographers meet, greet & drink ?? righto!

...a true Camel: always looking for a different angle...



(although that could also be induced by a late Troll beer and a toast to Her Majesty The Queen of The Netherlands with Oranjebitter (20%) )

...so finally we broke free and went for a stroll through the Sunny City





...Dam Square, the Monument...



..the 'living statues that don't move'...



..and those that do ...


(...but I think one of us got a better angle ...)

'Excuse us, can you take our picture please ?'



' well, yes we can, actually, a lot of them '



...so we continued our stroll...



...until it was made clear to us...



...that we had to lay down our weapons of choice again, as it was definitely Beer o'clock...



...Amsterdam had a little rain for us too , but we kept strolling...
















And after a nice meal we parted, the UK/AUS group went back to town and to the Hotel (eventually...), the Dutchies went to the Station and rode home.



Tomorrow the group (minus me, otherwise engaged ... ) will meet again in Rotterdam, Central Station, at 11:00, so anybody feeling the urge to join...

Tomorrow's 'Program' includes both Rotterdam City & Harbour, and later Kinderdijk, the '1000 Dutch Windmills' place

...hope you like this lenghty report, it should show *I* certainly enjoyed the day!
