Default Sensor Cleaning...

I've seen several posts relating to similar questions - but does not answer my particular question, so hopefully someone can help / advise.

I've got quite a number of 'welded' dust spots on my sensor (D50) and I have had a look at the different ways of cleaning the sensor and the one that appeals to me the most is Dust-Aid. I have tried a blower and there is no movement at all and it is starting to show at (just) at 5.6.

My question is... Does dust-aid remove welded on dust? or is it designed to just clear loose particules? I don't want ot have to use up ½ a packet to clear these (especially when in the UK it is £30 ($60) + p&p). Or should I be braver and use the paddle method?

Thanks in advance.

Ellis.

The world is like a ride in an amusement park and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and around and around and it has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud. And it's fun - for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question; is this real? Or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, and they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because... this is just a ride." - BILL HICKS. be bold, son!

I've used the Copperhill method on a $7000 camera the past couple of years with no issues at all.

Oh yes, I've been through this on mine.
Nerve wrecking to say the least! But I'm way more confident now and I fear no dust bunnies anymore!

I use Eclips sensor cleaning solution, and their accompanying pec pad swab wand.
Now it's as clean as my bank account...!
