Default Photoshop CS4...?

Someone mentioned the possibility of Photoshop CS4 to me today...!?!

Does anyone have any news whether that is on the horizon yet

Creative Suite 4 (CS4)/Photoshop 11.0 is a given. Only the release date remains to be seen.
But looking at Adobe's application upgrade history I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.

Have fun!

I saw a thread a few days ago stating that Adobe was offering upgrades to CS3, including upgrading from Elements, for a very discounted price. The apparent reason is the upcoming release of CS4. Here is the link.

I know better than holding my breathe!!! LOL!!! Thanks Craig I'll check it out!

Funny, I had CS3 on my sons computer weeks after it came out and tried to put it on one of mine and it wouldn't go on! I got the craps of playing with it sat it on my desk and covered it with something and months later ended up sending it back. They gave me a single copy and it loaded with no problem but I didn'y use it for a while as it was laid out a bit different and I wanted to take te time to go over it which took a while also! I am still looking for a few things!!! LOL!!! Not enough time!

Thanks!

Seb

That is 'DRM', Digital Rights Management, in action, Seb. CS3 can be installed 2 times only, on different machines, without any problems. The third time it gives a notice at the end of the install process that you have reached the maximum number of installs (but that 3rd installation works for me anyway. Don't ask me why...).

Have fun!

I would guess, if the current refresh rate is about the same, CS4 will come out sometime in Q4 of this year to Q1 of 2009. That would be 18 months to 2 years from CS3.

Shows you how flawed, flakey, and unstable that DRM stuff is. When I was a programmer I would have gotten canned over such trash. And deservedly so.

I didn't bother with CS3, perhaps CS4 will have something. I've skipped versions before - anyone remember Photoshop 6? Didn't think so, v.7 blew it out of the water. CS wasn't so hot an upgrade either. CS2 was, and still is a great, unless you have a newly released DSLR.

I never used Photoshop until CS (Photoshop 8.0) came out. Before that, I preferred a mix of PhotoLine32, GraphicConverter, and a couple others. I skipped CS2. A couple weeks ago I installed CS3/Photoshop 10.0. I use it integrated with PhotoMechanic for photo management.
I've also got Aperture, but in the little bit that I played around with it, it didn't catch my fancy. Maybe I need to spend more time with it.

I.o.w.: ZILCH!

So, if there's zilch!, why would Adobe be waiting for it? Doesn't make sense. They never waited on Fuji before.

It's Kev, playin' around. Someone has to root for Fuji.
