There is a large and well thought of retailer in Toronto who has a large e-bay store where they sell a lot of good used gear.....
They always tell you where the cameras and lenses were made......Japan, China, Vietmam, etc.....and many fine camera models seem to be simultaneously made in several countries. So my question is, Do you think that is a factor as to quality? If I want a Pentax K100D, lets say, Should it matter to me where it was made? __________________

i wouldent worry too much about where it was made. im pretty sure they were all designed in japan (in canons case). production woudl be pretty standard across the board and im sure they train the people who work in thee factories according to the manufactures specs. if you have a personal reason for not wanting to buy imports that would be a different matter but i would imagine that the quality would be about the same no matter where it is from. one thing i would consider is where do they service the merchandise? do they send it overseas or can it be repaired locally?
