Some of the experiences are a riot. Get this:

HORRIBLE! Deceptive, uncommunicative, and rude. I ordered a 450 dollar camera, and they called a week later to ask if I wanted a battery and a battery charger with that. I, of course, asked "Doesn't the battery come with it?" to which the rude representative answered "No, of course not - none of these cameras come with the battery - you have to buy them separately from Kodak for 300 dollars. Fortunately, we offer a deal here - you can get yours for 200!".

Of course I cancelled the order, and would recommend stearing clear of this place. Who knows what vital piece your item will be lacking, that they will want to charge you half again as much as the item to include!

How many times have we told you about B&H, Adorama, KEH, FM Site, Samys, our own Buy/Sell Forum, and the like for your new and used purchases

Plenty of excellent camera shops are located in New York, including Adorama and B&H. There are THOUSANDS of camera shops in New York. Of course, many will be excellent, many will be average, and many will be lousy.

Well John,a lot of the ones advertised really don't have a store front, so you'd never find them anyway Just follow the old adage "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" and you'll be fine

Yeah thanks Carl . Theres lots of reports that you guys in the states get a much better deal on camera gear in general than we do over here . I must admit I have not tried a true comparison really .
But I would not be surprised if it were true our goverment love the theft er er I mean taxes
