It seems to be such an in depth look that it makes you wonder why they completely ignored the Tokina brand?

Sigma is the only third-party manufacturer that makes lenses for the 4/3 mount, but they're pretty much just the standard fare they make for all the other mounts; the lengths may or may not translate to effective cropped views on 4/3rds.

I guess I missed that... Don't know about 3rd party 4/3 mount lenses. Iguess the article didn't strike as that useful, just a bunch of basic info in one place. Choosing lenses is very personal, and the discussion is limiting when talking about a two lens kit. My first lens after the kit lens was a 50 f/1.4. It should have been my first lens, though the kit lens served me well.

i think part of it is that tokina seems to be doing a complete reworking of their lens line up. i do believe as they get and test more tokina lenses this will get updated. |

Strange that he mentions the expensive Canon 100-400mm f4.5-f5.6L IS USM and Nikon 80-400mm f4.5-f5.6D ED AF VR that both have image stablization alongside the cheaper Tamron 200-500mm f5-f6.3 Di LD IF SP AF that does'nt, yet he makes no mention at all of the Sigma 80-400mm f4.5-f5.6 EX APO OS DG which has image stablization but that does'nt cost a lot more than the Tamron!
