Your problem is the D200 is soo good. No one need 'upgrade' from a D200 it's a mad camera.
But there is something cool about having the latest one, hang whether one needs it or not. __________________

Baby MK3 huh!?
I'd say you're probably not far off the mark there. One of the things I liked about Nikon in the past was closeness of the D100 v F5, in fact the D100 had weather sealing ~ a strong plus. I found that missing with the Canon range when I switched and though I've tried the D60, owned the 10 & 20D they never inspired me and did not last more than a couple of months. There really was only the 1 series worth looking at, IMO at the time. That's changed, the 40D is certainly a mini 1 series. Funny thing, I still have a 350D |

Still using a Canon 10D and have no plans to upgrade, it does what I what it to do. Ian
![]() PS I think people become a little obsessive about having the latest gizmo and forget that the camera is only the tool used to control light/exposure and it is ultimately the skill and vision of the photographer that created the good image. ![]() |

Yes, it is about the photographer...but the camera's capability changes how the photographer can approach the shot. In a HDR situation, multiple exposures may be the answer...unless time does not allow it. If time is a factor, a newer, more capable camera in the hands of the same photographer gives a better opportunity to meet the photographer's desired final image. |

I was just talking to my wife about that very thing. To upgrade or not. And seeing as we just spent a little over $1000 on our cat at the vet this week, and the need to desperately upgrade the home PC...... Well, you can see where that's going.
Then out seven year old daughter chimed in from the back seat and said "Why don't you just buy it Daddy?" (Bless her little heart) How do you explain to a seven year old that you can't buy a new toy because a) you spent your toy money saving the life of her pet b) money just doesn't grow on trees. As for the PC, my current one is a P3 at 800 Mhz with only 512 of RAM and a 32 Meg Video Card. It looks like the cameras aren't the only thing that get outdated. At least the 20D is still useable. __________________
