Default What camera(s) to bring?

I am going on a short 4 days 3 nights cruise this weekend. I have never been on a cruise before. I am trying to decide what camera or cameras to lug with me. I have an E-300 with the two kit lenses. I also have a much smaller camera, the C-5000. The latter can very easily be stowed away in almost any piece of luggage we are bringing. The E-300 almost certainly involves bringing an extra bag. The E-300 gets much better results, though, and also the battery will probably never have to be charged.

(As an aside, the difference between the stamina of the batteries in these two cameras is astounding. The E-300 goes forever and the C-5000 is only good for one outing at a time).
Any suggestions?

To paraphrase someone (I'm sorry but I don't know who to give credit for this), the pictures you take with a cheap point and shoot camera that you take with you are always better than the ones from the expensive slr that's at home in a closet.

I would personally take both cameras. I've been in your shoes before having to make such a decision. Sometimes I have taken only the compact camera, but I have always regretted it. Get yourself a waist holster for your large camera, and use that. It will make the camera seem less of a burden.

I would consider the capapbilities of each camera, vs. the variety of circumstances which will present photo opportunities. For some examples...
If one camera has FAST max aperture and you think there will be low available light photo ops, that camera has benefit over the other.
If one camera has zoom capabilities that include wide angle, and you think you will need wide angle to capture the scene that your eyes are seeing, then that camera has benefit over the other.

Since you are on a cruise, absolute portability is not essential (like it might be if you were hiking around the countryside for a week).

Charging...if you are in a cabin on a ship, why is recharging even an issue in your mind? Bring the charger if you need to!
