Hi,
I thought I set my 5D to Adobe RGB to have a broader color space . Looks fine in CS3 but when I need to convert to post here or my website the colors are very dull and I am having trouble getting it back to the colors and saturation of the Adobe RGB version. Any suggestion how to get the colors and saturation right after the conversion? Or shoulc I just stick to sRGB? Any comments and thoughts appreciated. __________________

felix first of all, learn the difference between assigning and converting as specified on this link.
Next shoot and process in the wider Adobe RGB space. Then, before printing/saving for web, go to Edit: Convert to Profile and convert to sRGB, save under a different name, and send that file to the lab/or put it on the web. |

It is a common question, thus a common issue. Some take their non-sRGB image and post it and others pick it apart and such because of this similar thing.
Convert is the way, but don't convert and save over your work. If you don't really care, and a lot of people shouldn't care), then shoot sRGB and don't worry about it. |

I was reading another article about the even wider ProPhoto color space here Digital Darkroom Instruction and from other sites but it seems that AdobeRGB serves the purpose in most cases. |

I use sRGB when shooting jpegs. The advantage to Prophoto is a larger color pallet. That, along with all the other seemingly negligible improvements to a high quality work flow, like shooting RAW, editing in 16 bit/channel, etc., all work together to provide quality in the end product. Watch the pennies, and the dollars will take care of themselves.
