Default Poll: Nuke the compact camera forums?

There are those here who wish to see the compact camera boards done away with. Given their meager participation levels, it's hard to justify keeping them. So speak now or forever hold your peace (or is that "hold your piece"?* ). In any case, remove them?

If they aren't being used I don't think it makes much since keeping them around.

It seems most people here are a little more advanced with the equipment and skills and that's what is driving more users here from other forums where there is a real mish-mash of things going on. I personally would really like to see some more seasoned pro's here offering their insight...

That's just my opinion of course, take it or leave it.

But if they don't have a home, won't that mean they will want to come in the forums with the rest of us? What if they track mud in or don't hold their tea cups correctly or or or fart or something?

I see by the voting results so far (4-4-4-1) that we have a consensus.

I have voted to eliminate the compact camera forums because of their lack of usage, though I would suggest rewording the relevant dSLR camera/lens forum titles and descriptions to include compact cameras as well. If and when the threads about compact cameras start growing, they can be split off again into their own forum.

You expect an answer when you pose a question?
Isn't that remarkable: so do I!
It's called civility.

Agreed though I think most people here just are not bothered about compacts

This may be the best approach, given our "concensus."

Just recently, the Compact Forum expanded its focus to include compact film cameras. Until a few weeks ago, it was for digital compacts only. I voted to keep it to give it time to find its audience.

I voted to keep them mainly because Photocamel is relatively new. As word gets out more and more people are joining but they may be frightened off if they don't find "A Friendly Photo Communitly".
