Default Describe your digital darkroom

I'd be interested to know what kind of equipment others here rely upon for working on their digital images. I'm looking for things like spec of computer, amount of RAM, size of screen, profiling equipment, etc. Pics would be nice, too.

Computer:
Pentium 4 (socket 478 ), 3.2 ghz, 2 gigs of RAM.

Monitor: Samsung 213T

Printer: Canon i9900

Thinking I need a faster computer....

Computer: Dell Precision 390, Pentium Core Duo 3.00GHz, 2Gb RAM, Nvidia Quadro FX 550 w/256Mb (I think...might be 128.)

Monitor: Dell FPW2407, calibrated with Spyder2 Pro

Printer: none, I use offsite services

Software: start with Adobe Lightroom, including Develop, and move to Photoshop CS2 as needed.

I also have a Wacom 9x12 tablet I haven't hooked up yet. Might be a little big.

Here's what I got:

Dell XPS 400 w/ Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz, 2 gig RAM. 150 Gig hd and 80 gig internal. 300 Gig HD external. All more than 50% full too!

Dell 2405 FPW 24" LCD monitor.

Canon i9100 printer

Canoscan 9900F scanner

Minolta DImage Scan Dual III for 35mm scanner

The big monitor helps more than anything. I haven't calibrated it beyond using Adobe Gamma, but the prints out of the printer and from MPIX are close enough for me. I also use Qimage to print at home.

My processor is hyper-threaded and that helps, but I do peg it out occasionally.

Bob

Custom built PC

AMD Athlon64 3200+
1Gb RAM (Had 2 Gb and I didn't install it right and burned my Mobo slots )
DVD+/- & DVDRAM Burner
21" Samsung 215TW (superb monitor for the money)
Calibrated with SpyderII

3 internal hard disks
1 x 300Gb
1 x 250Gb
1 x 200Gb

3 external hard disks
1 x 500Gb
2 x 200Gb

Also have additional backups - 40Gb hard drive full of mp3s, my Epson P-2000 backing up my most recent shoots and a 30Gb Creative Zen Vision keeping backups of my favourite music.

I have an Epson R2400 which is an amazing printer although is pretty expensive to run.
Canon CP-330 remote 6x4 printer - great at events as the battery allows loads of prints to be made.
Canon LIDE20 cheap scanner as I don't scan much.

Edit : Forgot to add my Wacom Grapphire4 tablet. Connected to my right hand almost permanently when in front of the PC

Photoshop CS3 & other stuff

hmmm...

An old beat up Dell Inspiron laptop with Nikon View and Photoshop CS2.

A Minolta Scan Multi II attached to an old P3 for scanning negs...

A Epson R800 for proofs... and a DVD burner with some external USB hard drives.

Color corrected with a Spyder.

Nothing really special, but it does allow my to do proofing/editing on the road or at a remote location...

Cheers!
Ken
