Default Sensor Cleaning with Discofilm! Take a look at this.

One of the Podcasts I listed to regularly is Tips From The Top Floor, which is produced out of Germany by Chris Marquardt. He did a video this week where he demonstrates using this stuff called Discofilm to clean his sensor. It was originally developed to clean vinyl records. Here's a link to the site where he got the information: Sensor cleaning with Discofilm

Chris has an imbedded video on his site right now demonstrating it. Digital Photography Tips From The Top Floor

What do you think? I just recently bought some Eclipse and Pec Pads from Copper Hill for my D200, which has a big dust spot right in the center of my sensor. This new method looks interesting, if getting the Discofilm were easy.

Bob

Sounds promising, certainly better than continued swabbing with alcohol based cleaners.

My favorite dust cleaning method was one I read on the net whereby the kid said he just removed the lens and then held the camera body out the window of a car doing 50 mph, said it blew the dust right away.
