Since I use a Canon system with significant sums of money already invested in Canon cameras, I must reply Canon. This does not reflect that Canon is any better than another manufacturer, only what I use (I'm practicing my political savvy )

While I own Nikon, Canon and Pentax, I have to say my primary camera is Nikon. I just like the way it fits.

I routinely use Canon, Nikon, and Fuji cameras. I can’t say one is my favorite brand because they all meet different needs.

Pentax. Simply because Nikon still hasn't made a reasonably priced DSLR with AI lens support (heck, I can and do live with stop-down metering, Give me at least that, Pentax did). The interface on the Canons is wonky to my hands, wierd control-wheel locations, Nikon and Pentax control wheels are right where they belong.

Olympus-- since 1982. Their cameras tend always to be high in quality, and also innovative and a bit different from what the others are offering.

I think if Olympus did not exist I would probably turn to Pentax. They traditionally have offered excellent products at reasonable prices. Before I would buy a "*istD" though, I would like to know how to pronounce it.

while i'm not brand loyal, i find that i like every camera out there except canon. they have wonderful technology and excellent results, but i absolutely cannot stand the build of the cameras. they just don't feel right in my hands. too bad, because they do good work.

It's funny how that is. I had a Canon Canonet rangefinder camera for awhile. It has an excellent f1.7 lens and is considered somewhat of a classic for cameras of its kind from that era. It was in great condition and even had the original case. I shot a roll of film-- prints came out fine. I sold it on ebay, though, shortly after I got it. Why? Not to pick on Canon, but it just didn't feel right. The D350 is worldwide huge seller. Somebody must like it for it to be the top selling dslr. When I tried one out in the camera store it just didn't feel right to me.

Just wondering how this poll can include junk lens/accessory only brands like Kenko and Phoenix, and also Nikkor, which is a sub-brand of Nikon, but completely omit such "minor" brands as Leica, Hasselblad, Rolleiflex, Konica/Minolta, Mamiya and Contax? Who writes this stuff?

Well in the end, anyone can write this stuff. Everyone has the option to set up a poll on whatever they like. The original poster decided on this list. My list would have been different, as would have yours.
