Well, actually General Imaging, GE's worldwide Licensee...Coming to PMA. Are you ready to jump ship?

General Imaging is headed by Hiroshi "Hugh" Komiya, who is the recently retired president of Olympus. His big "helper" is Takeyoshi Kawano, who retired from Olympus as head of their design engineering. In his life, he has headed design teams that created the Sony Walkman, Betamax VCR, VAIO computers, Aiwa brands, and the Olympus Stylus series. Not bad at all.

I don't see a viewfinder, just a lens and flash?

Well, one wonders who will GE buy in order to be among the top three. It's unlikely that the "great GE name" alone will get them there.

They have other cameras. See the link in my thread above yours. Same as other camera companies, some have a viewfinder, some don't.

If they buy anybody, hope it is Olympus. When these guys ran Olympus, they made pretty cameras, and still do it looks like. Olympus's new flagship doesn't look pretty yet.

Who are GE? Are they good guys? I'd hate for Oly to get bought out by a load of asset strippers (not that there are many assets to strip these days...).
