A Canon 1D Mark II for 2087.00??? Can this be for real? - PhotoCamel

They claim to sell the camera with lenses and a tripod for 2087.00. This is almost exactly half of what other dealers sell just the body kit for. I am curious how true this could be and whether you would actually get the camera after paying the price. I am also curious if it may be a gray market item.

I already own the 1D Mark II but was surprised to see this. The best price I have seen is around 3900.00 at B&H I believe. I purchased mine at 4000.00 from my local dealer and then got the 500.00 mail in rebate Canon was offering up to the 15th of July. The offer is now gone but hey Canon may bring it back so they can sell more.

I have no idea why Amazon let's this stuff go on. I know a guy, who knows a guy who bought from ONE of those deals. I'm not sure which one it was, and was probably not the same thing. He "bought" (read: "Donated a ton of money") 1DsII for around $3750 "New". His money went, camera never came. Plus, there is fine print about what amazon stands behind, and what they don't. Last I heard, he was still hosed. Don't know the latest.

If it sounds too good to be true, I'm too cheap to test it!

Pure Scam. It's full of them in ebay as well. >

Best deal I saw was when Dell was running a special and you could get it for about $3070 after rebate about a month back.
