DSLR anniversary

Wheeee, what a year! It was one year ago today that i took the plunge, and got a DSLR. I had never used a SLR before, so i spent the first month studying and figuring out what all those settings meant. I was afraid to take it out of the bag, and sitll mostly used my P&S for a month or two. Then, i went through baby steps, and finally began shooting in manual mode for most things a couple of months ago. I can't believe all i've learned--i thought i was a proverbial old dog. I've already earned enough to pay for my equipment (well, the first batch of it, anyway!) and have had some successes, some dismal failures, and a lot of fun.

Just want to say thanks to everyone for your patient explanations, and all the helpful advice, and handy tips, and gorgeous inspiration. It's great to be part a community that shares so readily, and has answers to nearly every question. Every thing i learn opens up new possibilities. Am anxious to see where i am a year from now---aww, but you all will be that much more experienced, too.... i'll never catch up! But, i'll keep on trying.

Happy anniversary!

My D2H is fast approaching it's one-year anniversary with me, and my D70 will be approaching it's two-year anniversary before I know it. I'm just trying not to count the number of times they've been into the service center already... the D70 is there right now...

cameras only have to go to hospital when they are ill, like humans, or you would have to insist on a yearly 'checkup'
