Wheeee, what a year! It was one year ago today that i took the plunge, and got a DSLR. I had never used a SLR before, so i spent the first month studying and figuring out what all those settings meant. I was afraid to take it out of the bag, and sitll mostly used my P&S for a month or two. Then, i went through baby steps, and finally began shooting in manual mode for most things a couple of months ago. I can't believe all i've learned--i thought i was a proverbial old dog. I've already earned enough to pay for my equipment (well, the first batch of it, anyway!) and have had some successes, some dismal failures, and a lot of fun.
Just want to say thanks to everyone for your patient explanations, and all the helpful advice, and handy tips, and gorgeous inspiration. It's great to be part a community that shares so readily, and has answers to nearly every question. Every thing i learn opens up new possibilities. Am anxious to see where i am a year from now---aww, but you all will be that much more experienced, too.... i'll never catch up! But, i'll keep on trying. __________________

Happy anniversary!
My D2H is fast approaching it's one-year anniversary with me, and my D70 will be approaching it's two-year anniversary before I know it. I'm just trying not to count the number of times they've been into the service center already... the D70 is there right now... |
