Ok - as I think I mentioned before, I'm a very new photographer. Just finding my feet, I have not made anything like the incredible shots I see posted here. I'm still in the "oh I forgot to twist my polarizing filter again!" stage of things.
But I have two photos here, of different subjects, for an assignment I have of "framing." I'm not sure which one to use! Can you guys tell me which you like better? Maybe more later... thanks! __________________

Can we get some bigger samples? It's hard to judge when the image's that small....

I'll try - they were originally bigger but photocamel told me they were too big! I will try to post them separately... I need to resize them now...

Your framing is good for the castle shot, but just doesn't do it for me. I like the interaction of the grass with the spires, but overall I just don't dig the feel. However, I feel the shot of the statue is well grounded and pleasant to look around. Granted these are just my opinions, but personally I'd be quite proud of that shot of the statue. Was it shot with film or digital, and how long was the exposure?

It's digital, 2.5 second exposure at F10 and 400 ISO. If it would be now I'd use lower ISO and higher shutter speed...
Canon Digital Rebel XT (my first real camera )It was absolutely FREEZING cold and I was really dying there, plus running late to get back to work... Thanks for the critique! It does make sense... Any others are welcome |

Juno, the second shot is really cool. Have you shot this in RAW format. If yes it must be fun to play with different Color temperature settings.

Hi juno444444,
Quote:
care to explain how you would do that ![]() The problem is probably the lingo, for shutterspeed better use longer or shorter than higher or lower ![]() ...just to prevent another Babel, *my* €0.02 worth... ...oh, and about the images: IMHO the statue really 'stands out', the castle is nice, but no more than that, a bit 'plain'/'simple', although I like the effect with the grass, it is just too little IMHO to give the image that little extra, what the statue-image seems to have plenty off )...and that's as always only *my* opinion, another €.02 worth )Thanks for sharing, Kindest regards, Max@Home __________________
