Model doesn't like her pics

So sad. Not sure if I even care. The pics look great but she thinks she looks horrible.

Low self esteem I guess.

Just a TFCD shoot. Not a paying customer.

Should I care? I've given up trying to convince her how pretty she is.

What would you do?

Always kills me when I love a capture and the subject hates it. Or even worse forbids me from publishing it.

(((hugs))) That sucks. Perhaps you can ask her specifically what she doesn't like, instead of "I don't look good". Does she think a certain part of her anatomy looks fat? You can then coach her on better ways to pose that would hide those areas. Does she think her nose is big? Again, different poses would help that. If she wants to be a model, she needs to get rid of this attitude fast. Why is she even listing herself as a model if she thinks she looks horrible? Part of being a model is presenting yourself as if you know you look fantastic. Doesn't sound like she even has that in her.

You could ask her for some pics that she likes and try to determine the "why no likee" differences.

Probably not low esteem as those types tend to say very little or nothing at all.

I haven't been uploading pics for any of my recent shoots so my Flickr stream is pretty stale.

She's not a real model, just a friend modeling for me. I think she did very well, but she thinks, "OMG I look fat".

Well, that's what you look like. And you're not too fat, and I think you look lovely.

I did all the tricks I could. Short lighting, long lens, good angles.

It's so silly how women these days will do duck lips to their cellphone camera + instagram, and they "love" the result. Whereas a genuinely well lit photo taken with a good camera and it's too honest for them. It doesn't hide enough.

She's a pretty girl and the pics reflect it. She's just too hard on herself.

Bums me out.

Magazines and media have ruined it for women these days. They think they have to look like stick figures to be pretty.

She isn't specific at all. She just says, "I look fat and puffy".

As a friend she asked me not to upload them and I'll respect her. Too bad too, I think she's a real cutie.

I have had the same thing happen and I offered to reshoot but I never found out why she was unhappy and no reshoot.

I still haven't gotten over it but at least I think about it less.

Just keep doing your best and move on.
