Hey Josh- The advice I gave you was from the professional side- my mistake. Shooting when you are drunk just ain't professional- it's a bad habit even when you are an amateur. When you party leave your car keys and your camera at home. If you want to impress the ladies with your photography; remain sober, look sharp and most importantly, do good work!
When you are inebriated you loose concentration and perception- two attributes that a good photographer needs. Ed ![]() |

Josh,
I can't top (or even approach) the advice you've gotten so I'll just commiserate between two guys at our level. Almost every shoot I do, the model tells me how much she "loves" the images. Then about half the time, she never posts them anywhere so I kind of go HMMMMMMM. Chances are she'll never have time to reschedule again so then I have my "real" answer. However, I have a several repeat shooters who bust my horns unmercifully. We fight like two mountain lions but, in the end, anything they don't like comes out of my Galleries. However, whatever is left, they actually post on Mayhem, facebook and their own site. Once such model was a NY Elite runway model (Danielle in my Galleries) here in NY and I actually got the big headshot and 2 of the smaller shots on her print comp card and her agency web gallery. That was as close to heaven as I'll ever get. Since I do all TF shoots and no nudes, I can publish anything I want but I never force a model to show something she doesn't like. As a result, I have some terrific frames rotting on my 3 hard drives, but at least I can always look at them. Let it go and move on to your next shoot. You're way more than good enough. |

I always have my strobist gear in my trunk and it's not uncommon when partying with friends that they ask me to bust out the gear.
But perhaps in the future I'll decline the invitation late at night to photograph friends. Now to put this thread back on topic. I think she's a pretty girl, but she hates the pics. But I'm over it now. Moving on /end of thread/ etc etc. |
