Default Monitor

I have noticed over the past few weeks the photos I take seem to be what want as I view them in the camera but when I put them on my monitor they are much darker. Is that due to poor calibration of the monitor? Please any help would be appreciated.

Default Re: Monitor

Every camera LCD that I've used has been much too bright. I always set the camera's LCD screen to the lowest brightness setting, and use the histogram to judge exposure instead of trying to eyeball the screen. Of course, there are exceptions- like full moon shots- where the histogram won't be of much use, and then I'm forced to eyeball it if I want to judge exposure using the screen. With each of my cameras, I've learned through trial, error, and using the histogram, how the displayed image corresponds with what it will look like on the computer.
