Maybe not all of them are idiots. In the last Olympics (or was it the one before) Kodak gave the whole audience a free disposable camera with a flash so they will all fire at a certain point of the ceremony. The "background" lighting was beautiful, sparkling night.

Smart move by Kodak.

I don't think "thousands" is quite enough. Maybe "millions", or "hundreds of millions". With the advent of digital and throwaway shooting, it could be "billions", or even more!

My allergy is backgrounds. Somehow my camera adds things to the image between the time I shoot and when I see them on the screen. I just know those distractions were not there.
