I have a nikon d700 12.1 megapixels DSLR camera. With complete accessories including, accessory shoe cover, LCD monitor cover, body cap, camera strap, video cable, usb cable, quick charger, rechargeable li-ion battery, software suite cd-rom. The camera is almost 1 and a half year old and never been damage. It's clean, no scratches, no whatsoever.. I am planning to sell my camera as i have a new one. If i have to sell it, how much will my camera cost?
Thanks for the advice... __________________

I have no idea about the market in the Philippines, but a few factors will impact what you'd want to ask for the camera.
a) How quickly do you want to get rid of it? If you aren't in a hurry, you can ask for a somewhat higher selling price, but you might have to wait around for the right buyer. b) What is the shutter count? A camera with 1500 clicks is going to be worth significantly more than a camera with 45,000 clicks. I'd think you could ask between 65% to 80% of what you paid, depending on the above conditions. |

Agree with Karl (Zemlin) with limitations :
if shutterclicks are low and below 1500 clicks (wich is near mint imho) you could ask 80% of what you paid but only if the item is top notch (new or like new) , no dents, or scratches and every thing that came with the camera . Accesories like a extra battery , a second battery charger, all ad a few $ to the price but only if you are not in a hurry you can get a idea of the market price in the states by KEH.com they often sell used equipment but offcourse they ask more than what they pay .. A D700 is considered to be a profesional camera so even 45000 clicks is still used and good used but not ready to retire yet . such a camera is capeable off 150.000 clicks or more Be honest , that sells better and sooner than lying and cheating tell why you want to get rid off it ( i bought a D .... ) and tell what the good points are and if it has any bad points what they are i have bought 95% of my gear second hand but are not looking for a new used body or lens or so Make high resolution photos also off pionts where wear is shown first (command dials and jog dial and buttons on the back) goodluck |

One other thing that makes a difference for me, both as a seller and a buyer ...
Take REALLY NICE photos of the item. High resolution, good lighting, lots of detail. If there are any flaws no matter how minor, show them in the photos. That gives buyers confidence that you are an honest seller. I never buy photo gear from sellers who can't take a decent photo of the item they are selling. Crappy photos mean they don't know how to use their equipment. The only exception would be if the original owner had died or divorced or whatever so the seller is not the photographer. |

When I try to find prices for my used gear, I always try to find a market price via online auction sites like ebay. I'm not sure what you would use if you are outside the U.S. though.
In general, I find that ebay is advantageous to sellers and so would take the ebay price as the upper end if you were going to try to sell locally. |

Thanks Sbay! This helps a lot... I'll check it out on ebay and see if there's anyone selling the same item like mine... BTW the currency is not a problem at all, it's just a simple multiplication and is not that complicated. |

Off topic but I fondly remember the Philippines as a place of beauty with a lot of areas that lend themselves to capture by photographers. Just a few that come to mind on Luzon are Ifigao rice terraces [you have to see them to appreciate their wonder], Baguio, Pagsanhan Falls [not sure of spelling] and others. The barrios are also full of the most wonderful people. Anyway, I hope you are successful in achieving the desired price for your D700.
