Default Question about the Tamron 28-300

The other day I was walking along with my camera with the Tamron 28-300 attached. I noticed a small clicking noise each time I took a step. At first I thought a button on my shirt was making contact with the camera body as I walked along. After some investigating I realized that the sound was coming from the lens. Apparently the front part (element ?) of the lens is loose. I don't remember the lens being like this when I first got it. I do have a UV filter attached but that is snug so I know it is not the filter.

Is this a normal condition for this lens? Should I send it in for repair?

Thanks.

Well...None of the front elements on any of my lenses make noise or are loose...I would think it would be a tad diffficult to focus properly with an unsecured lens element...

No. It should not make noises. If it does, something is loose inside. That's not good.

Go for diagnosis first. Get an opinion. And a quote. See if it's worth repairing.
Good luck.

Does the lens still work properly? If so, use it. If not, send it in. Those third-party lenses are generally not made as well.
