I was just wondering if it would be appropriate to use this thread to share images that we shoot for the contest but decide not to enter as our one entry...kind of an exhibition gallery. I guess I'm getting anxious to see some evidence that work is being done!
With a theme like "Number One" it seems you could really go in many different directions and end up with 2 or 3 images that you'd like to share. Maybe that would get too confusing, with people posting images that were too similar to their contest entry? Anyway, just an early morning brain ramble from the west coast. My son had a bad dream...I'm going back to bed now! Elaine __________________

The theme was suppose to make you go in multiple possible directions. You are actully "thinking" about your photography now because of it, right?
As for posting "rejected" entries. I would think it is okay, but I'd say do it after the vote. I know that is after it is over, but even DV's comment about a number sign from dollar store could tend ot lock ones focus. An image, even though you didn't enter it, could do the same in a worse way. Of course, this is all my thinking on all this. The "question" was given, and it is up to you to get the answer. Doesn't have to be THE right answer, but an answer. Where you get the answer is up to you. If you copy someones elses idea, you didn't use all that you could have. I know it is hard to wait and see others progress. But we have to. When the voting is released, much joy will be heard because we can all see all the ideas and images. The second contest will be the same, just not as "I can't wait". By the way, I am NOT opening any of the entries sent via emails to PhotoCamelContest at GMail dot COM, until after mine is taken. |

I kind of thought it might not be a good idea to mention how I had begun , but then the 'other' direction I have gone .... that will not be revealed .... the first one was to throw everyone off while I set up the "real" entry..

I am going away for a few days [ flying down to the south island] . If I send one in now to be safe , can I send another and cancel that one later if I come up with something better ?

I've been planning to submit mine near the end of the time allowed, since we are only allowed one. I'm guessing you might get a flood of entries over the weekend for the same reason! I've had my idea from the very beginning...just trying to work out the particulars!

I've submitted one, though I fell foul of the hard-nosed administrator by exceeding the file size by a few bytes
.I'll probably come up with a better angle before closing date, but no worries - I'll post any that didn't make it here after the contest is over. |
