Congratulations Arizona! That was one of my favourites too, though any of the top three could have won it for me.

I didn't expect that with all the very good entries. Thanks so much. It was a fun shot, done with my back to a light pole with a 10mm focal length. The locals were wondering just what I was doing. LOL

I have wanted a Whibal card for some time now so this is a great prize.

The entire set of all three sizes of Whibal cards arrived today. I have to say that this blows me away, they are nice. These will be used.

I just got back from a 7-days/6-nights under the stars, traveling and photographing through deserts and high woodlands and wish I had them to experiment with. I'll be taking the little neck card on my next journey and will try to get a promo shot or two for our kind sponsors. The bigger cards will make fine studio tools. There are many instances where I use the white dropper in the RAW conversion but don't have a perfect neutral target. Now that is going to be fixed.

The funny thing is, I didn't even look at the prize as I figured I had no chance but when the votes started coming in, I did look and became excited over the useful white balance tools. Thank you for the opportunity.

Thanks you sir. I am curious about some instances. Here is a shot I did on my recent trip. I have to wonder how it would work in a places as this;

as I said, there will be lots of experimentation. I shoot in all manner of light, not just a magic hour kind of guy.

Wow - dramatic shot Glen. Really like the contrast between the fire and the red stone backdrop. I'm not too sure about what look like bags of crisps/chips in the background. In some ways it works in showing the impact of man on the landscape, but not sure if it's also a distraction?

Thanks Paul. I have to agree with your view. Those are bags of Thai Kitchen soups, a thing we usually include with our trail lunches out there ( and why we are boiling the water in the little titanium kettle). The other is a tin of seasoned tuna that we put on rye crips, a bread or cracker like Wassa but with some good seasoning. No excuse but the sun was encroaching on my fire scene faster than I figured so I didn't have time to add a rucksack or the like for other exposures. When I look at this image I do wish I would have removed the food packages but out of three quick shots, the vortex of fire was definitely the best of the three. There were some great shelves just off stage right where we sat and ate. I wish I had time before the sun to get a horizontal with the fire. You know how it goes sometimes. Thanks for the reply.
