Voting has commenced. Which photographer should win the bold color contest?
It is my pleasure to announce the October/November Contest: BOLD COLOR / COLOUR Color should be the emphasis of your entry... Not just any color, but KNOCK YOUR socks off color. We're looking for your favorite color BLAST!!! More colors aren't always better .... Consider entering a BOLD monochromatic entry to set yourself apart. RULES: Yes, there has to be rules to keep it fun. 1. Your submission must SCREAM color.... no subtle entries welcomed in this contest. 2. Provide a brief caption telling us a bit about your entry... (feel free to be creative here) 3. Entries will be judged on craftsmanship and attention to detail... (in other words, be careful about not GOING over the top on this one) 4. One submission per Camel member 5. See rule number one... Here is an example to prime the pump... Hopefully, you can top this: ![]() Party balloons at my nephew's Birthday party This contest will run for two weeks... Winner, by community vote, gets their picture on the PhotoCamel main page as "photo of the week" and an additional prize! __________________

All righty then, here's my attempt at color...
This is the first foam core board shot I did. Some flowers are placed in front of some black foam core boards and you take some pictures to see what you can get... ![]() Jon. |

OK - this was knocked up quite quickly this evening, after raiding the kiddies toy box. I had never noticed how worried-looking the expressions were on these toys until now. I suspect that, just like Toy Story, the poor things are in a constant state of peril about what may next befall them...

I think this was taken with an old Sigma 400mm Apo using an adapter as the Exif doesn't give much info.
Taken in my garden with a Canon 300D 400mm 1/400s @ iso 200. ![]() |

Ok, well...I don't like my entry, and I certainly wouldn't want anyone to vote for it in the contest, but now that I've got my camera I feel like I should post pictures more. *So, here's my pathetic attempt.
I have been dealing with kids with the flu since Saturday night and so I can't get out to take pictures. *My eldest had the flu Saturday and Sunday, then Tuesday my youngest got it. *He's STILL sick. *I may end up having to take him to the doctor tomorrow if this continues, he has already dropped below the 5% in weight because of the flu and doesn't have any more weight to lose poor skinny little guy. * Anyhoo...we had a sun break and I stuck both the boys in the backyard to air them out a bit. *I decided to try my FIL's magnification lens he gave me by slapping it on my 50mm (1.8 ). *This is one of the leaves on our tree that is refusing to admit it is fall and doesn't want to change colour. * ![]() I was having to contend with my youngest (who, btw, just interrupted my typing by waking up at 10:40pm and coming in to the computer room to throw up again...he's back to sleep again and the carpet is clean but darn this has not been a fun or nice smelling week!) who was grabbing the branch I was trying to photograph a leaf on, and he was ripping leaves off of it making the whole branch bounce around, plus there was wind. *I would have cropped the photo more to get rid of the blurred area, but then I'd lose the nice edge from the shadow leaf.
