I am asking again about the cut-off time for voting on the selective focus contest. I know the voting began early, so when does it end? Is it the 29th? If so, what time do you use? Does it end at the end of the day (midnight) on the 29th? Or does it end at midnight on the 28th when the date changes to the 29th? And what time zone do you use? I am in the USA on Eastern time. Thank you!

Paul, thank you so much for your answer. I couldn't find the times anywhere and I knew the voting began early so I didn't know what that might do to any times that might be listed somewhere.

Jules, you go to the site http://www.photocamel.com/gallery/sh...ry.php?cat=615
and let all the photos load and then under each photo will be a very tiny word "vote", which you click. You can only vote once though. If you make a mistake, there is a place at the top of the photos (at least, I think that is where you will find it) that lets you clear your vote and vote again if you change your mind. You have to be registered to vote, but since you are posting in the forum, I know you are, but I am letting you know in case you have a friend that you tell about the contest. I hope this helps! ![]() |

Unfortunately, some people can't help but try and cheat the system by registering multiple names and voting for the same image. Such abuse is NOT tolerated and ruins the contest for everyone else.
To this end, I have removed two entries that had very clear vote rigging. Please bear in mind that we can spot such behavior quite easily, and in the end the only person you're cheating is yourself. |

I think someone that would do this to cheat has lost pride in themself. The lens is a reminder of your pride and achivments. I figure I didnt win because you guys are mistaken and didnt vote right !!! LOL John |

Excellent contest to follow!
Made a blunder myself, by entering a pic and then whilst going through my gallery........ thought I had a wayward upload sitting all on it's own. Deleted the pic and then when I went back to view the progress of the contest....... I had deleted my entry. SMile! That'll teach me to pay attention. Congratulations to the winner. Great image |

For future contests that have a reasonable prize we will be imposing a restriction that only those with a certain amount of posts can vote. We really didn't want to do this originally, but it's the only way to prevent such irregularities in the future. Anyway, let's not dwell on the negative stuff. The winning image was outstanding and we should all give credit to Brian (LordV) for his work. |
