Congrats to Uncle Frank for winning the flower photo contest!
![]() Frank, you win a free PhotoCamel bumper sticker from https://www.cafepress.com/photocamel, plus the privilege of starting the next general contest. PM me with your address, please. Hopefully as the site grows, the prizes will get better! Now, on to the next contest... ![]() ================= Everyone has done it at one time or another: taken a picture of a flower they've been swept away by. Let's see what you feel is one of your best efforts. These can be studio shots or those done "in the wild." We'll have a vote on the very best one when all entries are in. How about we run this one for a week? Thanks! ======== Voting: voting will run for 5 days. The winner gets a special prize, to be announced. ![]() __________________

Are you sure it has to be just one?*
Ok fine, I'll just post one.* ![]() Surprisingly, there is really VERY little I did to this picture in post processing.* I did a little bit of diffusion to give it the ruffley edges to the flower, and I cleaned up the smudges that were in the background when I scanned it (HOW do you get smudges on the inside of a scanner when you can't even figure out how to open it!?), but that is it. They're usually seen in clumps, but here's a single fuchsia blossom.

Here is one of mine. It was hard to choose which one I wanted to display. This one seemed a little different from the others. I love this Japanese water lily.
