Default A Lamb for the Wolfpack

Another piece from my WWII Series:
"A Lamb For the Wolfpack".

A flight of B17 Bombers encounters flak over Germany with one falling from formation.
Composite of 5 photographs.

Still needs work ie:feathering of the prop, but I need criticizms to tweak before I enter it into print competition.
Suggestions?

2nd shot shows detail.

I'm in no position to offer critique or advice as my eye is not that of a print judge. I do want to tell you this, I have enjoyed seeing every one of these. Each has been remarkable in detail attention. I keep looking for the "Revell" logo to crop up on them.

Thank you for sharing.

Steve

My quick look and thought was the plane in the lower right is turning, and the trails show that. The foreground one appears to be coming towards me at a different angle than it trail. Do you think it is just starting to turn?

Pickles,
You are correct. It does not match.
It's not turning. I'm fighting trying to get the contrails from the lead plane as well as the left plane correct.
I didn't notice it as much on the lead plane as I do the other one, but I'm still working on it.
Affiliated Print Judges are best in the world. They WILL spot the problems if do not get them fixed.
I'm thinging of adding a FW190 or an ME109 to the mix to help illustrate the Wolfpack title.

Mark - I too have enjoyed your series up to this point a

The flak just does not look right to me, but it has been a while since I saw any in a movie. Could it be the distribution, maybe not enough?

Also, I am thinking the contrails look a bit off to me, especially for the plane in front but you say you are still working on it. To this point the planes have looked more "real" to me, is this due to the size of the planes?

I'm thinking your suggestion on adding a ME109 or FW190 will add to the composition.

I'm looking forward to the next version.

Scott

Looks good so far Mark. Here is my suggestion fwiw. Either stick with the original idea and use the flak. Or put the enemy fighters in. I woudn't do both. Reason being, the german fighters would break off their attack before the bombers got into the flak. They would then resume their attack once the bombers got out of flak range. One more thing, the plane fall out of formation. I would put some black smoke comming from the engine. Then you wouldn't really have to feather the prop. It would give the impression that it just happened.

Can't wait to see the finished product..Good Luck in the competition.

I'm with Steve on the series. You've put a hell of a lot of work into these and I for one would like to commend you on your effort and execution on all of them. Keep up the exceptional work and vision!
