Default Bokeh

Playing around with a new tool...it's called Bokeh by AlienSkin.

These were shot with my D300 and 70-200mm last Ren Season, wide open at 2.8. Even at 2.8 and at the longer focal lengths the background is evident and still quite distracting....so i used some Bokeh magic on them and turned out this:

and just so you get an idea...this is the before shot of the second pic.

Of course, it's not perfect...but it makes an excellent effort to create creamy backgrounds.

Nice, but we might appreciate the effect better if we could see the before as well as the after shots.

I like these, and thanks for posting the before and after I have many photos from Jousts that the crowd in the the back messes up the look, looks like you solved that problem.

I'm curious which Ren is this one?

Thanks for sharing,

Scott

That's a pretty neat and handy tool, Odz. Are there a lot of steps involved?

I just followed the short tutorial video on the AlienSkin website. I learned alot about making good selections too...stuff I didn't know before. Most fo the time is consumed doing a good selection...maybe 3-5 minutes in this case.
