Default B-29 Bomber

The original aircraft is a static display just outside the front gate at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City.
B-29's were normally aluminum skinned without paint, but this is a weather recon plane, hence the white paint. The engine cylinders inside the cowling are from a B-17 I shot in Dallas.
The B-29 hasn't flown in 15 years.

Jeeps and mannequin courtesy of the Nimitz Museum in Fredricksburg, TX.
Sky, grass and background shot locally. Runway is from a model airplane box.

Scored a merit level score at the New Hampshire Professional Photographers Assoc. print competition a few weeks ago, and a blue ribbon.

I really like these composites... The NHPPA jeep works a bit better than the carrier based TBM Avenger torpedo bomber attacking the German train though. At least that's what my Pop thought it was.

Jazz,
Your Pop is right.

Avengers (flown by former Pres. Bush in WWII) never served in Europe.
They only served the South Pacific.

I only realized my mistake when the print came in from WHCC...and it wasn't I who noticed....my son mentioned it.

I'll probably redo that print with a Mustang, Lighting or something like that in place of the Avenger.

That's cool your son is paying attention. It's like a "continuity" error in films... at least you know they're watching. I think you should leave it as is... a "tribute" to what might have...

Cheers,
jeff
