My painting from an original photo by Ben Curtis...Added the butterfly for interest.....
A mix of digital media....gorilla and butterfly hand painted....background run in CS6 oil paint.

Hey, I'm brand new here-- this is my very first post, and I want to use it to say that's a KILLER mountain gorilla... Have you ever done any western lowland gorillas? Any other apes? Just wondering, because you did a great job making the face look alive and expressive, and I've seen a lot of images of primates that fall short in that area. Beautiful!

Hi Shazardhi,,,sadly I would not know the difference between the gorillas as I simply saw an image of this one and thought it would be wonderful to paint BUT...must have a look now...
