Carousel Horse

I normally photograph live horses. We were in Shreveport, LA and I found this carousel and couldn't help but take a few shots. Added a dry brush layer and a texture. This one is pretty much just for fun.

Wow. Looks great to me. Love the effect. Thats on my list to learn. Is there a tutorial on hear about it. I have not looked yet.

Thanks for looking and taking time to comment. I don't know if there are any tutorials on the Camel. I used Photoshop (CS3) made a duplicate layer and picked the Dry Brush filter, then I duplicated the original layer again and made a texture (Burlap). The rest was moving the opacity of each layer to taste then flattening layers and saving with a new name.

As I said this was just a project for fun. The carousel horses already have the hand-painted look so the effect seems to work okay. I don't think every subject comes out well with the paint effects straight out of the box. There are adjustments in all the filters so the effects can run the gamut from subtle to outrageous.

My suggestion is to take an image and apply various treatments, take notes as you go. Pretty soon you will write your own tutorial.
