My little bird, Jet
Okay, Im trying again. I got such great, helpful comments and advice on my last post, I thought I'd try one of my little birdie, Jet. How can I make this photo more appealing? thanks!
 ISO 800 1/125 f5.6 105mm flash fired I was disappointed to discover in my experimenting, that I cannot seem to upload a RAW file to my computer, or to my Photoshop Elements 5. Guess I will stick with JPEG for now, since I have so much else to learn, but eventually, I guess I will need a newer version of Photoshop to be able to edit RAW images? Thanks in advance for any comments or advice....much appreciated! Judi PS...I am learning SO much already! I just discovered by reading old posts on this site, the importance of using the lens hood. I had never used it before, but did for this shot above, and will for all my shots from now on. Thanks! __________________

I think it's pretty appealing already.
 Sweet bird. You might try a dark vignette to de-emphasize the background a little. You should have gotten some software with your camera for raw files? |

I bet you could do a search here and find some info/tutorials on vignetting. I gotta get to work but pm me if you didn't and I'll walk you through it later.
