I LOVE horses. I've never owned one myself but I loved watching my childhood friend ride hers and visit the stable many times. I always thought it would be a wonderful satisfaction to own one. It amazes me that such big strong animals can be the most dedicated and loving of pets.

This shot was taken a couple of summers ago from Beaufort NC looking out to Carrot Island where the direct decendants of the spanish horses live. The call them the "Wild Banker Ponies". There is a lot of history of them here and around the outer banks and they are a huge attraction to the tourists.

This is one that I shot of a couple of Paints while visiting a farm near my mom's house a few weekends ago. I couldn't decide whether to post the color or B&W one so I posted both.

Thanks thats very kind of you. Maybe try zooming close from a distance with a wide aperture to blur the background out or shoot them with a barn, tractor, or something else behind them.
