Default Working with a new pup

She is looking like a big dog but she is still only 7 months old.

Looks like you caught her jumping. At what age do they become an adult?

Nice capture. I love that breed. Very loyal and intelligent dogs.

Yes, she is training the 1 meter hurdle but this photo the hurdle is only about 18". Training the concept and technique until her bones and joints are fully developed.

When do the become an adult? Never. I'd say it takes about a year to hit maximum height and then over the next year of two she'll fill out a little more as she develops her big girl muscles.

Thank you. She is West German Show Line.

Thank you. It was fun trying to capture the image without any assistance, only the dog, camera, tripod and remote. I am an animal lover but if I can only pick one breed, this is it.

The cheapest one that I own. A Canon EF50 f/1.8 II. Camera was set low on a tripod with a remote release.

Oh, I so love the GSD and you captured her in beautiful action! Good looking dog, thanks for sharing!
Will she do any Schutzhund?

Andrew

Thank you Andrew, I too love the GSD. This is my 3rd one and the first that I have tried Schutzhund with. Since it is my first attempt, I really slow her down as I'm learning the sport and cannot train her effectively until I know what I'm doing. Hopefully by this time next year we will be ready to trial. A lot to work on but one day at a time.
