Kitten Season is in full swing at the shelter where I volunteer. Here are a few kitten pictures.

Best cat I ever had (and, in my opinion the best that ever existed) was an orange and white boy from a shelter. He passed about a year ago, still miss that baby. I did adopt two little girls last August and they are wonderful kitties in their own right, just not replacements for Eliot.

Thank you for viewing and commenting. Just like humans, they each have their own unique personality. My wife and I have been volunteering at the shelter for 11 years now and more than 300 of our fosters have found homes and no two have ever been exactly alike. I tell people at the shelter that when they adopt from us it is a tripple win situation, you save the animal's life, you gain a family member, and you provide space so that we can save another. Seeing the animals get adopted is its own reward but as you can see I also get to take advantage of them photographically. The two orange tabbies in the last photo that I showed have already been adopted and have gone home. Kittens always do better if they have another kitten to play with. Here are a few more photos.

Thank you and the others for your kind comments. Getting involved like this was really my wife's idea. You must understand that I am alergic to cats and I told my wife before we got married that she would have to give up cats because of my alergies and that in my marrage I rule. So because of that we have never officially owned more than 5 and have never had more than 19 fosters in the house at one time. The hardest part is having to give them up but the shelter always has new ones for us to keep alive and to train to become the best pets possible. I exploit them photographically to help fix our memory of them and to help the shelter out as much as psooible with this skill. I am trying to capture cute expressions and cute moments. Here are a few more photos of a kitten at the shelter taken just the other day.
