Hi all,
Looking through the various sales and offers for the 70-300mm I have hit on a used one that has a large Blue badge on the lens barrel and has printed on it; 140-600. It is prominent and stands out against the black body and I haven't saw it on others that have been displayed online. I was wondering if it could have been a demonstration model. I don't suppose there's anything inferior about it, but I thought I'd come seek some assurance. Thanks for your help. Tony __________________

Since the Olympus camera has a smaller sensor....it has what in digital photography is known as a 2 to 1 crop factor. This makes the focal lenth of the lens Cast a smaller amount of the image than a 35mm full frame film camera. There is nothing wrong with the lens....they are just utilizing the 2 to 1 crop factor in the labelling.

Thanks for that, I was after info about the blue badge that is on the barrel and I was thinking that it gives a hint as to the age of the lens, because the seller states that it is under 12mths old.
I've trawled the net but I cannot see a similar layout. Thanks again for your reply, Tony |

Today I bought a used 70-300mm Oly Lens. It is in excellent condition and I'm very pleased to own a quality piece of equipment.
I'm new to photography as I've already stated, but it's the advice and assurance given by members, such as Stephensong, that give newbies like me the confidence to purchase quality gear so we can proceed to the next level. Thanks to all, Tony __________________
