Hello everyone have any body used the sigma 15-30 is a good lens for weddings group shots.

I've done quite a lot of group shots recently, and I never needed anything that wide. I think you want to avoid the distortion caused by such a wide angle. Would suggest just using the wide end of a standard zoom and moving back, if you can.

You may need some risers for your really big groups instead to make better use of your image area. Most viewers would be interested in mainly in the faces, with a few in the front row providing a sample of the clothing being worn for the occasion. Or, if you can swing it, you might try stitching a panorama shot together instead. The additional advantage in this is each frame has fewer people to spoil the shot or require remedial work because of closed eyes or similar problems.

I tend to agree with JD and Scoundrel. Groups of people shots aren't a good thing to shoot with a really wide lens. A nice tight portrait might be, but that might be borderline too? You need to stack them people up
