Tamron 28-300 vs Nikon70-300 - PhotoCamel

I bought the Tamron today on an impulse buy for $190US and after taking a few night shots, I'm thinking about taking it back. I have the Nikon 18-55 and 70-300, but needed a non-expensive lens to take care of both.

Did I make the wrong choice? I'm guessing when it's sunny it'll be fine, but low light is horrible unless I'm at ISO 1600

What do you mean you "needed" a non-expensive lens to take care of both? I'd think it'd be even less expensive to not buy a new lens at all.

At $190 USD, you get what you pay for in regards to the Tamron.

None of your lenses are really options when it comes to handheld night use. You need something with a faster maximum aperture, such as a 50mm f/1.8.
