There is no doubt that the K20D offers more features per dollar than any other offering's by competition's cameras. 14.6 MP, anti-shake, dust buster, live view, weather sealing and the ability to use legacy lenses, quit a package. Good luck with their marketing.

I just read that the Samsung GX-20 is actually the same, identical camera rebadged and will sell for $450. less money. How in the heck can Pentax expect to sell the same camera for $450. more?

JPEG Engine, different menus, brand name, different button shape...?

I don't know.

in the week before the PMA show. The K20D also marked the introduction of a 14.6 megapixel sensor jointly developed with Samsung and manufactured by Samsung.
Samsung has been marketing their own versions of Pentax cameras for the past couple of years, so it was no surprise to see they will be marketing their own version of the Pentax K20D called the GX20. Features and specifications appear all but identical to the Pentax K20D
Their you go.

I have seen both offered for the same money, I don't know where the 450.00 comes in. I also noticed no one has offered a web site for the lesser amount. I personally think they will do very well with this camera, wish I could afford one. I just checkd B&H Photo and both cameras are the same money.

It definitely looks like a good camera, although for the current going price and differences in features between the K10D and K20D, I'll be sticking with my K10D for at least another year until K20D prices come down a bit. Besides, I've got my eyes set on some new long lenses anyways .

I, like you will find another lens or 2 before I buy the K20D, and I really like my K10D so its a keeper.

I'm also more than happy with my camera for the photography I do. This camera rekindled the same feelings I had when I got my very first film camera (K1000) and explored the world of photography. I couldn't bear the thought of getting rid of it.. it'll end up being my backup. I'd also like to see what Pentax comes up with after the 20D, to see if it's true that they are developing a "professional" level camera (K1D?). Although it remains to be seen if it'll be affordable.

Same here. I might consider when the price drops well below $1000, but still might hold out for the K30D.
