The rebate check finally arrived. Again, I have to give Tamron a big thumbs up for customer service (and a big thumbs down for the hassle you have to go thru to get the rebate).

The excuse was that I didn't complete the online registration (I'm pretty sure I completed it the first time). No compensation.

I've done two of them with Tamron and got both within two weeks. I always read the rebate instructions several time....they all seem to have their hoops to jump through.....Tamron is better than Tokina. Tokina makes you send your warranty card to them so they can validate it, then they mail it back....what happens if that gets lost in the mail.......

[QUOTE=d3100user;1528745]When I bought my 70-300 I received the rebate check in 2 weeks. Something is up with your rebate. QUOTE] Same lens and same result for me too... 2 -3 weeks without a problem.
By the way, I have really been surprised how much I've enjoyed the 70-300 lens. I bought it as a stop gap second choice after the 70-200 f/4 L because of cost. |

I purchased my new Tamron Lens from Bennets Camera, in Metairie, La. The sales man informed me of all the rebates ($100) from Tamron, he also filled out the registration form, and rebate form for me. All I had to do was drop it off at the local Post Office. I had my rebate check in 18 days. I also sold my original kit glass to the store, and got a good deal. I took my new lens on a cruise through Italy, and it took teriffic pictures. I then took it to Seattle, then to Mt Baker, for some hiking shots, again teriffic photos at either 18mm or full zoom 270mm.
