Landline. We've lost power for 3 days and sucks pretty bad when your cell battery dies. Yet the landline still works (yes we still have a rotary dial phone we keep waiting to be plugged in for emergencies).

The last time I had a land line we finally got rid of it because we never used it, and the phone would ring constantly because some A-Hole would give out our number when making purchases so we would get creditors calling us around the clock.

With not having to pay for a land line, we got iPhones.

Cincinnati Bell announced that they will have to lay off employees because of people getting rid of their land lines. It's a shame, but their cell phone service is horrible with a terrible network. In this day and age you gotta keep up with technology.

Landline+prepaid cell. Around here,in a storm the last two services to go out are landline and natural gas. If those two go out we are done anyway. (Generator runs on natural gas.) Cells aren't all that reliable when things get bad.
