Default What did you have for breakfast?

Here's mine.

My birthday was a few days ago and at 29, I figured I was aware of the many great things life had to offer.
Why the hell did no one tell me about thick cut Maple Bacon!? From the moment the brick of bacon landed on my lap from my brother, my mind had been blown. This wasn’t some random occasion that you just take on willy-nilly. No, you plan for this, you plot, you use schematics!
The night before I carefully thawed the bacon so it was the perfect temperature. I laid out the schematics in a row this morning and dove right in. Good god, it was glorious. I opened the package to the most amazingly awesome wafting of maple syrup and bacon aroma. It was going to be good. The 1/4″ strips were daunting to say the least to cook. Each one required the utmost care and precision attention during the cooking process.
Crunchy on the outside and softish in the middle, just like a good baguette I once had roaming the streets of Paris after a long jet lagged morning. No mistakes about it, my kitchen is not Paris. But, for the briefest of moments…. it was a syrupy-bacony-sugary-glorious-lustful-stellar blissful heaven.

We went to the golf club (I don't play) for breakfast and I had their "Big Village Breakfast" which consisted of biscuits & gravy, 3 eggs over easy, slice of ham, two strips of bacon, 2 sausage links and hash browns. Needless to say that breakfast was enough to last all day long without another meal.

I love thick cut bacon like that. I had some when visiting a friend up in canada (seriously, the bacon there is awesome). Down here in Florida, all we seem to get is the newspaper thin stuff that is mostly the fat and hardly any meat.

I think that falls under the 'Cruel and unusual punishment' amendments, since most of us cant have that right now.

Max - you take divine bacon like that, and eat it with store bought white bread? Ack!

(lol)

Happy birthday, and glad you got such a great breakfast out of it.

Oh, well, ok then, if it was Texas toast and slathered with butter, then you're good.

Mmmm...love bacon!

We only buy Ohse thick slice here. More real meat that any other brand I've tried.

I once asked an English friend for a recipe, the laugh was the way it started:
"Take a rasher of bacon, trim off all the fat.."

What would we be left with if we did this to most American bacon?

But for breakfast today I had shrimp foo yung.
